Chairman's Corner

2008 is and will be an exciting year in Government and Politics. We will be electing a new President who will be setting the tone of the country for the next four years.

We will be electing a governor who will be setting the tone for the state for the next four years. We will also be electing a myriad of other national, state and local offices.

These are exciting times to be involved. I greatly appreciate those that have stepped forward to serve in public office. There are changes at the federal level that affect our community. There are drastic changes being debated in our own Indiana House and Senate that will have an immediate and long lasting affect on us in Union County. Then it will be up to those that we put into office to work with what was given to them and make the best decisions they can with the tax dollars they have in hand.

I will be taking extra time to learn about the candidates who have volunteered to serve in public office and will be asking hard questions of them. I want to know that they can lead and will do the best job for the community they have been elected to serve.

The Union County Republicans will be giving each of the Republican primary candidates, as well as the non-partisan school board candidates, that will be elected in May space on our website so that you may learn a little more about them. As they are received, they will be posted in Our 2008 Candidate section of our website.
