The last day to register to vote for the 2008 Primary and School Board Elections is April 7th. If you walk it in, you have until 4:30 pm when the Voters Registration office closes.
If you are mailing it on April 7th. it must be postmarked on April 7th, not just dropped in a mail box somewhere. If you are filing at the BMV the same is true. You must file it on or before April 7th at their close of business.
Anyone may go to the Election Board and vote an Absentee ballot starting April 7th. It is a program called early voting and you no longer need a "reason" to vote absentee. The deadline to vote by this method is Monday, May 5th, at noon.
To be qualified to vote in Indiana you must meet the following requirements:
Qualifications:You must transfer your registration whenever you move out of your precinct. You may use the mail-in voter registration application to do this. To protect your right to vote, you should transfer your registration as soon as possible after you move.
